Become part of the Tarifa Windsurf community this summer

OVERVIEW

The location of the Windsurf school allows students to learn on inland flat water and the safe ocean bay.

All difficulty levels

Whole package included

In the Windsurf summer camp for teenagers between the ages of 14 to 17, they will be in good hands! It is super fun and challenging, to learn or improve windsurfing. Mastering the technique gives a great feeling of freedom. All that teens need to bring is motivation to learn, the rest will be done by our motivated windsurf instructors.

Lenguaventura partners with the leading windsurfing school in Tarifa, which supplies our students with their windsurfing gear (suited to all weather conditions) and professional instruction during their lessons.

The aim of the windsurf courses is to learn technique which, within a short time, leads to fast progress and the transition to shorter boards and larger sails, thus increasing speed, movement and enjoyment!

With a lot of practise windsurfing can be mastered easily and with the guidance and supervision of professional Windsurfing Instructors students can become addicted to this unique feeling and connection to the wind and the water!

Choose the intensity of your Windsurf camp experience:

  • Group lessons level 0 – 3
  • Semi-private lessons level 4
  • Private lessons – Levels 4 – 5

All Windsurf courses provide lessons over four afternoons (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) each week (a total of 8 hours per week). For levels 1 – 3 the groups consist of four students with one instructor. Level 4 – one or two students with one instructor, and level 5 – one student with one instructor.

Extended windsurf option (additional hours post regular sessions): Exclusively available in private lessons or semi private lessons when two students share the same skill level. Please ask for more information here.

Each student will always have their windsurfing gear, which includes a board, sail, helmet, lifejacket and wetsuit, thus allowing them to have maximum time to practise their skills.

If a student wants to obtain an official certificate (VDWS), then the school will offer an extra one-hour theory class after the two hours practical class. The VDWS is a certificate of a student’s windsurfing proficiency, proving that they are both independent riders and know how to behave on the water. The certificate is the same for all skill levels and can be obtained in two weeks.

A fantastic team of dedicated professionals organizes the camp with boundless enthusiasm. My nephews attended, and it has been an incredible experience for them. They not only enhanced their English skills but also engaged in numerous activities and sports amidst an international community of teens, all set in a stunning destination. Thank you for everything!

Our 16 year old is transformed! He has been filled with confidence and the kindness of your instructors and monitors. Thank you for the whole team. It was all a huge success and I will be forever grateful that he had this opportunity to prove that he could rise to the challenge of doing something like this.

A really great apportunity to meet new people from across the world, with different cultures and backgrounds. Whilst there I developed my Spanish language skills and learnt how to windsurf! There were many fun activities in and out of the classroom that made this trip a great experience – on top of the beautiful location.

Tarifa is amongst the most famous spots for water sport activities with endless white sand beaches.

It is the southernmost point of the European mainland and it is only a stone throw away from the African continent with regular ferry boats to Tangier in Morocco which takes only one hour. The smallest passage of the Strait of Gibraltar is 14 kilometers. Further to this in Tarifa the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet.

The accommodation of Camp has its own kitchen with an in-house chef, all prepared fresh and using fresh ingredients. Campers can enjoy daily healthy nutrient-rich meals, including a three-course menu for lunch and dinner. The menus are varied, to fuel the teens for their activities.

For the excursion days, a picnic is prepared.

Meals included:

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Dinner
  • Two snacks one during the break from the language classes and one after returning from the activities back to the Camp. Fruits and water is available around the clock

The Camp caters to all special dietary requirements. If a teen has special dietary requirements it’s a good idea to communicate it to the organiser when making a booking.

The busiest airport in Southern Spain is Málaga. For students coming from the British Isles, Gibraltar is a possible option. This service is included in the price as long as arrivals and departures are on Sundays from Málaga or Gibraltar.

The teens are all picked up or dropped off at the airport Málaga or Gibraltar whenever their arrival or departure time is. If possible don’t choose arrival flights too late at night.

We also fetch the teenagers on other days than Sundays and at the airport in Jerez de la Frontera or Seville at an additional cost.

It is possible that parents to accompany their son/daughter to the Camp. Arrival time should preferably be after 12:00 pm. At the end of the Camp parents who pick up their children could come between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Parents should advise Lenguaventura in advance about the time they plan to pick up

All information about arrivals and meeting points at the airport is available in our personalized customer centre to which all registered campers and their parents have access.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of € 650 due one week after having received the booking form. The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled between 29 and 16 days prior to the starting date.

1. What is the difference between a group kitesurf course and a semi-private course and which course is the best fit for my child?

It is the intensity above all that makes the difference. For those students who have never practiced kitesurfing and who want to have a first experience to find out whether they like this sport a group course with four students, sharing the kitesurfing gear available in pairs is recommended. This course is less intensive but at all times very professional and every student learns a lot as a team member. It can also be an option for these students with more advanced levels but who prefer to consolidate their knowledge without rushing and enjoy sharing the course with peers of the same level.

If a student is already an advanced kitesurfer and the goal is to reach the next level or to progress most efficiently and at a fast pace, a semi-private course (two students with their own kitesurf gear each) in this case is highly recommended. The kitesurf school recommends semi-private classes from level 3 onwards.

2. What happens if wind conditions do not allow to practise water sports?

We are a pure water sports camp. That is why we are very flexible and spare no effort to change our program when the wind conditions require it. If the wind is unsuitable on a scheduled water sport day, we recover as many hours as possible on more suitable days. Alternatively, we offer activities such as surfing, SUP, wakeboarding or go for an Adventure activities.

3. What is the situation when my child comes alone to the Camp?

Your child will not be the only one coming alone and we know there is nothing to fear, as kids coming alone are very open to new friendships and generally fit in with one another very quickly.

4. How is the supervision organised?

The Camp staff takes care of the kids around the clock. During the night we have a night counsellor.

5. Do you admit children of 13 years?

Yes, we do, especially if they come with an older brother or sister or if parents are sure that their kid/ kids can cope with being away from home. These young teenagers have to be aware that they will be amongst the youngest which is not a problem for the summer camp and hopefully neither for themselves.

6. Ideal length of stay for my child at summer camp

1 week: The one-week camp term is designed to introduce young people to the exhilarating world of overnight camps
2 weeks: Provides an ideal balance between a convenient summer schedule, outdoor fun, and positive youth development
3 weeks: Deepens camaraderie, fosters friendships, explores new skills, immerses deeper in camp community
4 weeks: Allows campers to engage in all available activities, creating an enriching experience, bond with community

Feel free to contact our team for personalized advice or questions regarding your child’s stay. We’re here to help create the perfect summer camp experience.
